Day 3

The fellows return to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, Middx. The day focused on some of the exciting basic research programs at the Royal Hospital. The fellows heard several interesting presentations on cartilage resurfacing and biomaterials research. Kurt gave an excellent presentation on his research regarding growth factors and ligament healing. After lunch, the fellows had a tour of the laboratories and had the opportunity to meet with some of the investigators. For dinner, the fellows were guests of the British Orthopaedic Association and attended the Council Dinner, held in the Old Hall, Lincoln's Inn, a marvelous structure built in 1490.
