Several fellows sleeping on the bus after an early start for the May
Day celebration.

The fellows touring the city. |
The fellows return to London. The fellows arose in the early hours
on Saturday morning to welcome in the spring with the Oxford community. May
1 is the May Day holiday which is celebrated throughout the U.K but has a
particularly rich tradition in Oxford where the community gathers outside the
gates of Magdellan college where the College's children's choir sings from a
spectacular tower located at the college entrance. The music began at 6 a.m.
in front of 20 to 30 thousand revelers. that included Oxford college students
had just finished their commemorative balls. The "singing in of the spring"
was followed by a diversity of street acts which included traditional English
dancing. The fellows then had a farewell breakfast with Professor Kenwright
and then departed on what ultimate turned out to be an exciting bus trip to
London. Although the fellows quickly arrived in London, it became apparent
more than an hour later that the driver was not familiar with the London streets. Fortunately Kurt pulled out his handy map of London, while Cato
used the drivers map. Inn combination, the two fellows expertly guided the
bus towards the proper location from the far reaches of the city. The remainder of the day was
quite relaxing. Kurt, Larry and Regis went for a
run, while Cato, Guy, Paul, and Emil went on a tour of the city. That evening the
fellows had dinner at a pizza shop and attended a performance of
Miss Saigon. The fellows were able to procure tickets earlier in the day
from a "street agent." Guy and Cato managed to "bargain" the price down,
while Paul used his New York City smarts to make sure of the authenticity of
the tickets. The performance was magnificent and after a quick nightcap at
a local pub, the fellows retired for the evening.
