Day 24

The fellows visit Great Ormond Street and Middlesex Hospitals. The fellows had there final academic day in London and were met in the lobby of the Nuffield by Mr. David Jones, their host at Great Ormond Street. The group had a pleasant walk to the hospital on a beautiful spring morning. The fellows had the opportunity to hear about several of the exciting programs at this prestigious childrens hospital. Guy presented a his data on open pediatric fractures.

After lunch, the fellows had an academic session at Middlesex Hospital and learned about many of the exciting clinical and research programs at this institution. Cato presented a paper on tissue engineering of bone and all of the presentations generated excellent discussions.

In the evening, the fellows had an outstanding dinner at the Royal Airforce Club in London. Guy gave a toast on behalf of the fellows. Special thanks was given to Mr. David Jones, the secretary of the BOA, who made the arrangements for the outstanding tour through the U.K. Special thanks were also given to Mr. David Adams and Ms. Eileen Arnold who were both so helpful to the fellows during their travels.
