The fellows left Manchester on an early flight to Edinburgh on an early morning plane. As with the laundry, the fellows mixed all of the bags together as they traveled to the gate. Given their recent experience, there was some panic over the possibility of lost bags at the check-in. However, all fellows and bags made it to Edinburgh where the fellows were greeted by their hosts. The fellows are staying in the homes of the hosts with Regis and Emil staying with Mr. Charles Court-Brown; Kurt and Larry with Mr. Michael McMaster; Cato and Guy with Mr. Malcolm Macnicol; and Paul with Mr. William Souter and families. After dropping off their belongings at the various homes, the fellows gathered with Michael (ABC 1978) and Marianne McCallister and Jimmy Scott (ABC 1960) for lunch and a fascinating tour of Edinburgh. The dominant site in Edinburgh is Edinburgh castle, built in the eleventh century upon an ancient volcanic rock formation called castlec rock. The fellows toured the city and saw both the old and new city, which was constructed in the Georgian period in the 1760's and 1770's. The fellows wished all of their wives could also enjoy these sites. However, since the wives could not be there, the fellows ended the day by visiting a Scotch museum and learned a great deal about the creation of this magical Scottish beverage.
